About Us
Who We Are
Florida Man Farrier is built on years of professional farrier work and military training. Our roots go back to service in the US Army Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery, where our founder was responsible for the daily hoof care and shoeing of the horses that took part in ceremonial funerals and duties.
Southwest Florida isn’t just where we work; it’s where we live, raise families, and spend time outdoors. We understand the local climate, terrain, and riding conditions, and we tailor our hoof care to support horses that live and perform here year-round.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my horse be trimmed or shod?
We stick to a five-week schedule because Southwest Florida’s climate is tough on hooves. Rainy season softens the feet and increases bacterial exposure, while our sandy soil is abrasive in the dry months. With conditions swinging between wet, dry, hot, and humid, horses here need consistent management. Regular five-week trims keep the hoof balanced, prevent flares and cracks, and reduce strain on joints and tendons — keeping your horse sound and comfortable year-round.
Do you work with young, anxious, or difficult horses?
Yes. I’m patient, safety-focused, and experienced with horses that need a little extra time. Every horse is different, so I adjust my approach to whatever helps them stay calm, learn to stand well, and feel comfortable throughout the process.
What areas do you service in Southwest Florida?
I cover all of Southwest Florida, Lee, Charlotte, Desoto, Hendry, Sarasota, Collier, and Glades County. If you’re outside this zone, reach out — I may still be able to accommodate you.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, Zelle, and check only. Payment is due at the time of service.
Do you offer corrective or therapeutic shoeing?
Yes. I offer corrective and advanced shoeing to address issues such as imbalances, cracks, underrun heels, and other hoof-related concerns. When needed, I coordinate with your veterinarian to ensure the best outcome for your horse.
